Abstract
Many fire accidents happen each year. However, most hospitals are not immune to the disasters such as fires and earthquakes. If fires happen in the operating room, we must evacuate and transfer the patients to other hospital during operations. Because of fire, we can not use the anesthetic machine, the patient monitors and the elevator, etc. Also, all the lights would be turned off. Thus, we would face an emergency situation. Each hospital should have a formalized plan for such a disaster. The authors report here on an anesthetic experience for administering anesthetic in the emergency while transferring a patient because of fire during her cesarean section.(Anesth Pain Med 2006; 1: 120¡123)
